PVL president Ricky Palou revealed that a video challenge system will be utilized in the upcoming Reinforced Conference but will be delayed due to logistics issue.

The Premier Volleyball League finally added a video challenge system for the upcoming season-ending Reinforced Conference as revealed by PVL president Ricky Palou on Wednesday, October 5.

“We have already ordered and paid for the video challenge,” Palou said.

“I think that was the end of July or August but they haven’t delivered it. I don’t know, for some reason, they’re saying that the cameras are not ready but the order has been there, they promised to deliver it, and we’re still waiting for it. But we will definitely have a video challenge,” added Palou.

According to Sports Vision Marketing Head Fred Fateh, the video challenge system will not be of service come opening week due to the "global shortage of semiconductors," but the league expects the system to be functional by October 25.

“We will miss a few games but it will be here,” Fateh said. “We will definitely, 100 percent, certainly have the video challenge.”
“The last piece of news that we got was that it will be shipped on Wednesday. We have asked for it to be shipped the fastest route available, it’s probably gonna be DHL. I anticipate it taking about three or four days to arrive, probably about three or four days to get it cleared from Customs but at any rate, we will have it,” he added.

Lindsay Stalzer of F2 Logistics spearheads the list of the import-laden tournament, joining PLDT’s Russian import Elina Savkina-Samoilenko, Cignal’s American reinforcement Tai Bierria, American Lindsey Vander Weide of Petro Gazz, Dominican Republic national team player Prisilla Rivera of Akari, Canadian Laura Condotta of UA-Army, Creamline’s Turkish import Yeliz Basa, Uzbek-Azerbaijani outside hitter Odina Aliyeva of Choco Mucho and Chery Tiggo’s Jelena Cvijovic of Montenegro.

The Reinforced conference is set to begin on October 8, Saturday, at Sta. Rosa Sports Complex, starting with a double header bannered by PLDT and United Auctioneers-Army at 2:30 PM while Akari will make its league debut against back-to-back bronze medalist Cignal at 5:30 PM.

Games will be played every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, broadcasted by One Sports, One Sports+, Cignal Play and Smart Gigaplay.
