Traditional jeepney drivers operating on routes within the cities of Pasig, Taguig, Marikina, and Makati conducted a protest action in Pasig City on Friday, November 17, to demonstrate their support to the upcoming three-day transport strike led by the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON) starting Monday, November 20.

According to the protesters, the nationwide transport strike is their response to the government's refusal to remove the franchise consolidation component of the program and to suspend the entire program. They also believe that this decision will only lead to the monopoly of a few big fleet managers or corporations.
