A new batch of newly promoted educators from Quezon province recently took their oath of office under the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) at the MI Sevilla's Farm and Resort in Lucena City on Monday, January 26.
Quezon Governor Angelina "Doktora Helen" Tan administered the mass oath-taking program and congratulated them for a well-deserved promotion.
"Sana magkaisa ang lahat sa Quezon Province na walang mahuhuling estudyante. Maging mabuting halimbawa sa darating na mga bagong guro. Araw-araw maging mabuting mamamayan at maging mabuting manggagawa ng pamahalaan," Tan said in her speech.
Of the 350 teachers, 61 are from the Schools Division Office (SDO) Tayabas City, 32 from Lucena City, and 257 from SDO Quezon.
They were promoted through the ECP framework, as outlined in Republic Act No. 12288 signed by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. in September 2025. In return, they promised to improve the quality of teaching and also uphold students’ welfare.
Under the new law, teachers may be reclassified or promoted by up to three salary grades, depending on their qualification and experience.
One of the beneficiaries, Josie Ocado Caagbay of Ilasan Integrated School was promoted from Teacher III to Teacher VI.
"Lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa pagkakataong ibinigay sa akin sa pamamagitan ng Expanded Career Progression. Nagpasalamat ako sa DepEd SDO Tayabas City, mga kapwa guro, at sa lahat na sumuporta sa aking paglalakbay bilang propesyonal, at nangako na ipagpapatuloy ang aking misyon na maglingkod nang may integridad at pagmamahal para sa mga mag-aaral at paaralan. Patuloy na magsisikap para sa de-kalidad na edukasyon," she said in a statement posted in DepEd Tayo Tayabas Facebook Page.
From Teacher III, Ma. Belen Estelydes, 61, of Tayabas West Central School III hads been promoted to Teacher VI or three salary grades higher.
"Nagpapasalamat ako sa Diyos sa biyayang aking tinanggap at masaya ako na malaki ang itataas ng aking sahod para sa aking pamilya at nawa'y matapos ko na aking ipinatatayong bahay," she said after the mass oath-taking.
The National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) will improve its leadership development and training programs, as per the Department of Education (DepEd).
In addition, the agency recognized the contribution of Human Resource Management Officers, Teachers Credential Evaluators, and Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board members to the successful implementation of the ECP system in school divisions and regional offices.
DepEd also acknowledged the roles of Human Resource Management Officers, Teachers Credential Evaluators, and Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board members in implementing the ECPS across school divisions and regional offices.
