Environmental groups led by the Earth Island Institute and the Nilad Metro Manila Environmental Network conduct cleanup operations at the shoreline of Manila Bay near the Las Piñas–Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA).
The cleanup comes with a political message: for these groups, the pollution at Manila Bay is symbolic of the widespread graft and corruption in Philippine government.
