Border checkpoints have been installed at NCR Plus areas starting August 1, following the directive to restrict movement and to ensure that only essential travel and services and movement of goods are allowed.

With police checkpoints now installed at various border points in Metro Manila, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar has appealed for patience among motorists as long lines of vehicles are expected.

Eleazar advised motorists to prepare the required documents and IDs to be presented to police manning the checkpoints.

Among the strategies include setting up dedicated control points for the smooth travel of cargo and trucks delivering essential goods and allowing all vehicles to pass to ease traffic buildup.

However, these vehicles would be subjected to random checks.
