With its partnership with Taiwan's Chief Telecom, PLDT is clearly showing an aggressive push for a bigger overseas market.
Tim Chiang, Chief Telecom senior vice president, said that the partnership focuses on growing opportunities for businesses in Taiwan to expand their business operations around Asia.
PLDT Global Corp. announced that it is partnering with Taiwan’s Chief Telecom Inc. to expand its digital services in Taiwan. The partnership also allows the Philippine corporation to expand its services around Asia.
PLDT Global shares that they aim to provide enterprise customers with a “one-stop shop” that offers connectivity services across borders. Doing so would ensure fast service delivery and competitive offerings through cloud connection, enhanced business continuity services, and security.
The Taiwan-based firm provides cloud services, submarine cable infrastructure, and carrier neutral internet data center services in the Asia-pacific region. According to the firm, it is a “win-win arrangement for them.”

The same way the Taiwanese firm believes it is a good opportunity for their businesses to expand operations, it allows for Filipino-owned businesses to eye expansion as well.
Through the services made available through PLDT Global, businesses can now conduct business cross-country in Asia without having to go through much hassle.
Their partnership comes at a great time, especially with more businesses relying on connectivity amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
With everything going digital, the partnership will definitely be a game changer in both countries who rely greatly on technology to be able to conduct business in the “new normal.” (MO)
