The Leyte Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals is making its exciting return this June 2025, led by Palo Mayor Remedios “Matin” L. Petilla, Executive Committee Chairperson. Celebrated for 26 years, this vibrant festival showcases the unique cultural traditions and festivities of various towns across Leyte.
Mayor Petilla expressed enthusiasm about the traditional festival, highlighting the unique cultural traditions and festivities of various towns across Leyte, calling it an opportunity to highlight the province's rich cultural heritage.
"The Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals is an opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our province, and we are thrilled to bring it back this year," she said.
The mayor mentioned that she has been reaching out to the local leaders of the 40 municipalities in Leyte, encouraging their participation in the festivities. Though she was initially uncertain about taking on the role of chairperson, she is dedicated to ensuring the event runs smoothly, especially since it coincides with the annual fiesta in honor of Señor Sto. Niño de Leyte on June 29 and 30.
Traditionally celebrated with lively street parades in Tacloban, featuring colorful dances and chants from contingents across Leyte, the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals will be held at the Leyte Sports Development Center this year.
This decision was made by the organizers to ensure the event takes place in a more structured and controlled environment, providing both participants and spectators with a safer and more organized celebration while preserving the vibrant cultural significance of the festival.
Making its return in 2024 after the pandemic, the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival remains a highlight of Tacloban City’s annual fiesta. With the upcoming 2025 celebration, the event is expected to be a grand display of the province’s cultural diversity and community spirit.
Over time, the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival has become a significant cultural event in Leyte, bringing together the unique traditions, dances, and celebrations of different festivals within the province, strengthening connections among its municipalities.
The preparations kicked off with a meeting on March 31, 2025, at the Palo Municipal Hall, where different committees were assigned tasks for the festival.
The Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival will happen on June 27, 2025.
