A total of 70 seasonal farm workers from Pampanga were deployed to South Korea at the end of February, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed in a news forum in Quezon City.
According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO),the DMW is currently screening contracts for overseas farm workers in South Korea to facilitate their membership with the DMW.
This eliminates “labor abuse” and “increased awareness” for our overseas workforce against abusive foreign employers.
The DMW had also tapped local government units for orientation and monitoring of situations involving overseas workers.
The agency has also pushed for the formalization of a government-to-government agreement (G2G) for intensified “labor security” for Filipino seasonal workers.
