Condolences poured to the family and friends of Lance Arcilla who died at 21 years old. He will forever be remembered in the Valorant community.
Lance “Finest” Arcilla, the Valorant player behind the popular meme “Revive Me Jett,” has passed away at 21 years old, his mother shared on social media yesterday, April 10, 2020.
“Thank you anak for the 21 years of wonderful memories na ibinigay mo sa amin ni papa mo,” Leny Arcilla wrote on Facebook. “You have always been a treasure to us and will always be.”
Valorant is a free-to-play 5v5 tactical shooter game where one group acts as attackers and the other as defenders.
The game also allows players to communicate with each other through audio. Many players have become viral for what they say during an intense game.
One of the famous Valorant memes is “Revive Me Jett” where Lance repeatedly asks his teammate to revive him. The joke is that Jett didn’t actually have the skill to revive him.
The original video that compiled Lance’s voice begging Jett to revive him has over 4 million views on YouTube. The video was uploaded in August 2020.
The game developers, Riot Games, even included “Revive Me Jett” an official in-game feature through Episode 2: Act 2 battle pass.
Many personalities have extended their condolences to his family and friends including the Filipino pro-gaming team Team Secret and the official Valorant community on Facebook.
Leny Arcilla did not give details as to the cause of his death.
