Death isn’t the end of everything.

It is just the beginning of a more colorful life for people a dead person left behind.

Life goes on.

People move on happily or sadly.

Mourning is also a celebration.

That is what Dancing Queen Pia Moran believes in.

When Pia went all the way to San Pablo City to share the grief of friend and showbiz colleague Azenith Briones for the death of the latter’s mother-in-law, she wasn’t completely deprived of joy and happiness.

It didn’t mean to say she was jaded or careless about the tragedy that befell her friend, she was actually making sure Briones is fine and dandy while mourning.

“Nasanay na ako sa mga kamatayan. Pero nakikiramay ako sa mga namatayan. Sila ang dapat kong pasayahin dahil sila ay nalulungkot. Lalo silang malulungkot kung malungkot din ang nakikiramay. Ang patay lang ang natapos ang buhay pero ang buhay, patuloy na mabubuhay sa gitna ng kasiyahan at kalungkutan (I am used to death. But my heart goes out to the bereaved family. I should make them happy because they are sad. They will become lonelier if the mourners are sad as well. The dead one is the only one whose life has ended but the people who are still alive will continue to experience happiness and loneliness),” opined Pia, a contemporary of Briones.

Sans Laguna Third District Board Member and actress Angelica Jones, mom Beth Jones didn’t leave any stone unturned to pay her last respects to Erlinda Reyes, Zenith’s mom-in-law.

Beth said that Angelica was too busy with her provincial board membership work so she wasn’t able to join Beth in paying homage to Briones’ kin.

“Ipinagdarasal naman ni Angie ang nanay ni Azenith sa gitna ng marami niyang trabaho sa (Angie is praying for Azenith’s mom-in-law in the middle of her hectic schedule in the) Third District ng Laguna,” said the irrepressible Beth.

Azenith’s mother-in-law was buried in the middle of the heavy rains in San Pablo City Cemetery.
