The country's aviation regulator on Thursday said the event which started on May 17-18, 2022, was attended by Department of Transportation Secretary Art Tugade and Undersecretary Giovanni Lopez as well as CAAP's Danjun Lucas and Nicole Ramos along with 300 transportation and aviation dignitaries and delegates from 45 countries.
Hosted by Singapore's Transport Ministry and Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the summit was themed "Readying for Take-Off: A Brighter and Cleaner Tomorrow."
The CAAP said the event is a high-level conference that "brings together thought leaders and key decision makers in the global aviation industry to exchange views on key issues, such as recovery of the aviation sector from the Covid-19 pandemic, aviation sustainability, and the environment."
Meanwhile, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)-Singapore DGCA Program on Aviation Recovery held on May 18-22, 2022 served as a platform for Director Generals (DGs) to share experiences and dialogue on common challenges and opportunities for collaboration among states for the safe and efficient recovery of civil aviation and to build resilience for future pandemics.
CAAP added ICAO council president Salvatore Sciacchitano, International Air Transport Association (IATA) director general Willie Walsh, and Airports Council International director general Luis Felipe de Oliviera gave their keynote speeches during the event.
Participants of the summit include ministers, civil aviation regulators, chief executives of airlines and other officials or captains of the civil aviation industry.
