An entire subdivision was left without power at midnight on Tuesday, January 20, after a truck carrying a backhoe snagged power lines along Father Masi Street in Barangay San Antonio, San Pedro City, Laguna and took down an electric post in the process. It took six hours before electricity was restored to affected residents, but it was longer before Internet service was restored.
Residents have voiced complaints over large trucks and buses passing through what was once a private subdivision, while the incident also highlighted the danger of "spaghetti wires" over residential areas.
