Philippine Airlines (PAL) has started its direct flight to Da Nang, Vietnam on Tuesday, offering access to the cultural treasures of Central Vietnam.

The latest route from Manila to Da Nang is the Philippine flag carrier's third significant expansion in Vietnam this year. The airline was the first Asian carrier to offer regular flights to Vietnam in September 1986.

PAL Corporate Communications said PAL flight PR585, with 196 passengers and 8 crew on board, left Manila at 11:10 a.m on board Airbus A321 aircraft.

The airline also provides daily flights for Manila-Hanoi-Manila and flights between Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City on May 2.

Nuttall said they are welcoming Da Nang to the PAL network as its third destination in Vietnam. He said that he is inviting Vietnamese travelers "to fly with us and visit some of the more than 7,000 islands of the Philippines."

PAL will operate flights to Da Nang three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Da Nang is a coastal city known for landmarks like the Marble Mountains and Golden Bridge.
