Talent and creativity come in many forms. Some are born artistic and to make art but only few are born to create art out of the ordinary.

Lagunense Artist Bermin Villasor Rigor is one of those few. Born with no arms, Rigor does not let his disability stop him from creating beautiful artworks and paintings using his feet.

A native of San Pedro City, he shared that since he was a child, art has been his passion and he never let his disability stop him. This has made him an inspiration of talent and determination not only to fellow artists but to other persons with disabilities (PWD) as well.

Recently, Rigor earned the praise of netizens as his “One Piece” fan art painting trended on different social media platforms and was featured on different pages including that of OpinYon.

Challenge accepted

But as reality is, his life is not without its challenges. Rigor faced discrimination and belittling from some.

In an interview with OpinYon Laguna, Rigor shared how he deals with bullies and toxic people.

Rigor sells his paintings and accepts commissioned works. And like many local artists, he also struggles to make a good profit out of painting.

Asked by OpinYon how his business of painting art is going, Rigor answered, “Okay naman, kahit papaano kumikita kahit di malaki, importante legal.”

In terms of the struggles of painting without arms, he admits that it is rather difficult but he diverts his focus on his family to stay inspired.

Inspiration

He also shared his appreciation to his parents for helping him do things that he can’t as well as to those people who were inspired by his story.
