PRESIDENTIAL bet and Sen. Manny Pacquiao — will file criminal charges including cyberlibel and estafa against his former aide and estranged friend Jayke Joson.
This, after Joson reportedly maliciously accused the legendary boxer of reneging on his commitment to fight after receiving an advance payment of $2 million, amounting to approximately ₱100 million.
To recall, Joson bared in an interview with SMNI News on YouTube last Monday that Pacquiao’s camp turned back on an ongoing agreement with Paradigm Sports Management (PSM) which is aligned with UFC star Conor McGregor.
“And then, we got it and Paradigm delivered the money. This is on record, so Paradigm gave $2 million since he would be fighting against anyone Paradigm wanted him to fight. He even attempted to ask for additional $2 million but the fight against [Conor] McGregor didn’t push through,” he said.
After failing to negotiate the additional $2 million request, Joson claimed that he and Arnold Vegafria tried to raise funds coming from their own money and were able to collect as much as ₱65 million which also allegedly found its way to the senator.
However, Pacquiao’s lawyer and spokesperson Atty. Nikki de Vega denied Joson’s claims stating that a cyber libel complaint will be filed against Joson for fabricating statements about his contract with PSM and the details of his supposed match against McGregor in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, talent manager Annabelle Rama also took to Twitter to show her support for Sen. Manny as she disclosed in a series of tweets how Jayke abused the boxer financially.
Annabelle said in one of her tweets.
Manny umiiyak at nagmakaawa ulit.
The talent manager claimed she was present when Joson asked the money from the senator.
She also exposed Joson as allegedly using his perceived closeness with Manny to earn money on every business transaction by dropping his name during negotiations.
“Pag meron boxing si Sen. Manny sa Las Vegas 1,000 US dollars ang hiningi mo at pag dito sa Pilipinas 500,000 pesos, sa lahat ng businessman na gustong makausap si Sen.Manny hinihingan mo (ng pera); icompute mo for how many years mo ng ginagamit ang Boss mo. 26 years si Manny sa boxing. Lahat ng bibilhin ni Manny. Lagi kang may commission.
Annabelle was quick to share her thoughts that someone paid Joson in exchange for exclusive content while Manny is running for president.
