San Antonio, Quezon --Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 4-A (DA RFO 4-A) formally granted a P5.5M worth of Bio-Secured and Climate Finisher Operation Facility to Matipunso Water Works and Multi-Purpose Cooperative on April 19.
The grant was part of the implementation of Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) Program of the department.
The agri department also simultaneously launched 'INSPIRE Program' and 'Bantay ASF sa Barangay (BABayASF) Program' to address the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF) and cultivate local swine industry in the region.
The initiative was the agency’s response to reports that there are 10 provinces in the country still affected by the ASF most notably Quezon province.
ASF affected towns: (1) Tayabas City, (2) Mulanay, (1) Mauban.
