Authorities at Liloan Port in Barangay San Roque, Liloan, Southern Leyte, seized 57 tea bags of shabu during a K9 inspection conducted last November 8.

The operation was led by Liloan Municipal Police Station, PPA Liloan, and the Philippine Coast Guard, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), which resulted in the confiscation of the alleged shabu from a vehicle aboard the MV FastCat M17 ferry, coming from Surigao City.

The driver, identified only by the alias "Toring," hails from Surigao City.

The vehicle he was driving is registered in Carmen, Surigao del Sur.

Authorities confiscated a total of 57 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P387,000,000.

The suspect managed to escape initially, prompting authorities to conduct a follow-up operation for his arrest.

If caught, he could face charges for violating Republic Act 9165.
