P16-M worth shabu confiscated from courier

The National Bureau of Investigation–National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) arrested Raymond Darag Dulla alias “Babe” or “Boy” in Pasay City for violation of Section 5 (Transportation of Illegal Drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Confiscated in his possession were shabu weighing 2,454.85 grams worth P16,000,000.


The operation stemmed from information that on September 14 that Dulla will be transporting shabu that is concealed in tape dispensers and placed inside a brown box.


Additional information revealed that at around 8 pm, Dulla was to rent a taxi passing through the service road near Kenny Roger’s along Roxas Boulevard and Heritage Hotel in Pasay City.


Thus, NBI-NCR operatives planned and prepared for an interdiction operation.

On September 14, NBI-NCR proceeded to Pasay City and positioned themselves at the vicinity of the taxi's route. The operatives saw the taxi boarded by Dulla and discretely followed it.


They were able to observe a brown box matching the description of the container of the target illegal drugs.


The operatives flagged down the taxi but the vehicle tried to accelerate but immediately blocked by the operatives' car before the taxi could escape.


Dulla was immediately arrested.


Confiscated from his possession were tape dispensers containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.


The seized items were sent to NBI-Forensic Chemistry Division (FCD) for examination and confirmed those were indeed shabu. It weighed 2,454.85 grams with a street value of P16,000,000.


Dulla also yielded positive for marijuana and shabu after undergoing drug test.
