Around 10 houses were damaged after a fire ravaged the community of Brgy. 51, Magallanes, Tacloban City last March 20.

A total of 12 families and 19 lodgers were affected by the fire that started at about 4am. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said that the fire started in a beauty parlor owned by a certain Ernie Amascual.

The said establishment is located on the first floor of a commercial building. The fire immediately spread into the next stalls and residences which are mostly made of light materials.

Initial investigation revealed an estimated P870,000 in property damage and one resident injured while escaping from the fire.

As of this writing, the cause of the incident is still yet to be determined.
