Visual artist, polymath, environmentalist, teacher and journalist Bon Labora has embarked on a new endeavor to add to the many hats he wears--as an organizer of symposia for the better understanding of arts and culture and how these fields are affecting other disciplines.
Bon as a professor of Arts and Design at the Miriam College has just launched his newest pet project, a public discussion of innovation in times of obsoleteness and decadence.
Dubbed "Unboxing Filipinnovation Mindset," the forum to be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 3 pm at Coco Bistro inside the Quezon Memorial Circle includes an "innovation talk" by Dr. Ria Liza Centeno-Canlas, one of the Executive Members of the newly installed National Innovation Council (NIC) and the presentation of digital inventions of Arts and Design students of Miriam College.
"Innovation is a dynamic process. It is very imperative that Filipinos innovate for a better future," said Labora, head of Agos Media and administrator of Agimat news online.
To add dimension to Dr. Canlas' speech, yours truly, Boy Villasanta, will tackle multimedia innovations particularly in entertainment journalism.
One of the highlights of this writer's discourse is the use of popular culture to convey messages of pertinent ideas to the public.
Another topic to come across is the exercise of multidisciplinary approaches to entertainment news.
Meanwhile, Lia Seelin, one of the prime movers of Greenlink will deliver an inspiring talk on the greening of the earth.
Collaborating with Bon on the program are UST Artlets '75 which will celebrate its Golden Jubilee next year, Quezon City Photo Club, Imbentor and Emdex.
