Traditional jeepney operators who have failed to have their franchises consolidated by the December 31, 2023 deadline have been given a one-month grace period by the government until January 31. Meanwhile, jeepney makers have started rolling out "e-jeepneys" worth less than P1 million to enable operators and cooperatives to comply with the government's push for PUV modernization.
