Catholics gather for the traditional "Pabasa," or the singing of the Pasyong Mahal - a poetic narrative of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ - inside the St. Bernadette Chapel at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Quezon City on Holy Tuesday, April 15.
The "Pabasa" is one of the most notable traditions practiced by Filipino Catholics during Holy Week, a tradition that the older generation hopes to pass on to Millenials and Gen Z's who now spend the Lenten season glued to their gadgets and their social media accounts.
