Members of the Philippines for Jesus Movement (PJM), an umbrella organization of Christian churches, have collectively taken legal action against drag queen Pura Luka Vega after a video of a drag performance using a Christian church song, 'Ama Namin' (The Lord's Prayer), went viral online.
For them it was a desecration and offensive to their beliefs. The complainants -- PJM President Bishop Leo Alconga, Pastor Romie Suela, and Pastor Mars Rodriguez -- filed yesterday, July 31, individual charge sheets with the Quezon City Prosecutors office in Quezon City. They represent congregation members. Pura Luka Vega, also known as Amadeus Fernando Pagente, is accused of violating Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code and Republic Act 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
