There is no truth to published reports in an online news portal that Executive Secretary Atty. Victor Rodriguez has quit his post due to pressures from the inner circle.

Just hours after the supposed resignation of ‘little president’ Executive Secretary Atty. Victor Rodriguez, 48, from his post because of “pressures from the inner circle” the Office of the Press Secretary denied such reports.

Press Secretary Rose Beatrix Cruz-Angeles denied rumors that Rodriguez has resigned or is even planning to resign from his post.

Cruz- Angeles said the Palace has not received any reports concerning the resignation of Rodriguez as ES of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Seen by many, including the President, as ‘fiercely loyal to Marcos,’ the reports said he allegedly offered to be relieved from his post due to pressures within the inner circle of the administration.

During the campaign, Rodriguez served as Marcos' chief of staff and spokesman and was highly regarded in the candidate's successful campaign.

He is the managing lawyer of Rodriguez & Partners Law Firm, president of QC Trial Lawyers League, and a noted alumnus of the University of Santo Tomas and once served as treasurer of its Law Alumni Foundation, the Manila Times said.

He also served as deputy general counsel of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines

Early this morning, Cruz-Angeles said that she cannot confirm the “Little President’s” resignation.

Rodriguez allegedly offered to be relieved from his current post due to pressure within the “inner circle” of the Marcos administration.

Rodriguez has yet to respond to media queries, but he is set to meet with officers of the Malacañang Press Corps later Friday.

Rodriguez had been with Marcos' camp since 2016, when the latter unsuccessfully sought the vice presidency.

Hilaw pa! Vic Rodriguez unfit to become Executive Secretary- political strategist, Malou Tiquia, founder/CEO of Publicus Asia in an article of Politiko, an online news portal.

Tiquia earlierexpressed doubt over Rodriguez’s qualifications for the post that has been traditionally dubbed the “little President.”

“I don’t think the Executive Secretary has the experience considering the style of the President. You need someone who has years of experience both in the national and the local, as well as [someone who] can do policy,” she said.

“Yes, there is a whole bureaucracy but at the end of the day, the decision maker is the Executive Secretary,” Tiquia added.

Rodriguez was relatively unknown before he became Marcos’ spokesperson and chief of staff for the campaign season of the 2022 elections.

He served as barangay captain of Sacred Heart, Quezon City for 10 years before his appointment as special assistant to the chief of the Business Permits and Licensing Office in 2002, when Feliciano Belmonte Jr. was mayor of Quezon City. He later served as officer-in-charge of the city’s Community Relations Office.

Rodriguez obtained his law degree from the University of Santo Tomas.
