Not even former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis "Chavit" Singson (inside truck) was spared from the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Special Operations Group Strike Force's operations against vehicles illegally using the busway along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) this Monday, April 8.
Singson, on board his armored truck, claimed he only used the EDSA busway to overtake due to heavy traffic - an explanation MMDA traffic enforcers apparently did not buy. The MMDA has intensified its drive against private vehicles using the EDSA Busway, as it was noted that even the agency's shuttle buses violate their own restrictions on using the exclusive lane.
