All her fans were there.
The ever-faithful Noranians awaited the serving of the main menu, the first day showing of the film "Mananambal" headlined by Nora Aunor, the Superstar.
But where's the beef?
As early as three o'clock in the afternoon, frantic Nora fans were already queued up at the box-office of SM Cinema 5 in North EDSA.
Just like the good ole’ days when Noramania was the talk of the town.
Wherever Nora was, a mob was expected.
At the entrance of Cinema 5, the ardent supporters of Aunor were already there like Lita Muñez, Marie Cusi, Evelyn Lamagma, among others.
As the time of the block screening and premiere showing of the movie came closer, excitement was burning among Noranians.
They were hoping against hope that the Superstar would make a sudden, unexpected appearance.
But the avid Noranian Lita said, “Hindi makakarating si Ate Guy. Hindi siya pinayagan ng doktor na lumabas kasama ang napakaraming tao. Kita mo naman ang tao ngayon, ang dami kaya ninirebiyos ang doktor at sinabihan siyang hindi talaga puwede siyang mag-expose nang mag-expose. Delikado sa kanya (Ate Guy couldn’t make it tonight. She wasn’t allowed by her doctor to go out in a crowd. You know the bulk of people who are out there today, there were too many so the doctor was afraid she couldn't go and expose herself to a large crowd. It’s risky for her.”
The initial screening of “Mananambal” was attended by some of La Aunor’s male leads like Edgar Allan Guzman, Kelvin Miranda, Jeric Gonzales and Martin Escudero.
Bianca Umali, the other lead actress of the film was around to inspire and influence the crowd and the people outside the cinema in watching the show to support their movie.
The director, Adolf Alix, Jr. was around to explain the nature of the project. “This is a narrative about a faith healer,” he said.
Marie emceed the show with some of the talented Noranians.
