I remember when Superstar Nora Aunor and I had online communication some time ago.

We were talking about her film projects which would include a film with Jay Altarejos and one to be shot in Siquijor Island to be directed by a new helmer.

She was excited about these films.

Unfortunately, Jay Altarejos didn’t push through with the project but the one with the new director was on.

I read on Facebook and other digital platforms that the new film project was about faith healing to be shot in Siquijor and its title would be “Mananambal.”

The name of the director cropped up—Phillip Daffon.

Later, I came to know that the director of “Mananambal” would be Adolf Alix, Jr.

I didn’t bother to ask why Phillip was replaced by Adolf.

I was just paying attention to Nora as the lead star of “Mananambal” which is a story of a healer from Siquijor Island, considered by many as a “mysterious” place with a lot of stories about supernatural events.

According to Aunor, she was attracted to the narrative of “Mananambal” so she said yes to the offer.

At the time, there’s no stars to join Ate Guy in the movie.

La Aunor was just telling some anecdotes about the filming of the project—that the atmosphere of the set was eerie, that there were mysterious occurrences on the set but she wouldn’t mind about them, etc.

It was already Alix, Jr. who was the captain of the ship, the one on top of the creative and technical departments.

Guy stayed in Siquijor for a number of days.

It wasn’t an easy trip to Siquijor but it was challenging and colorful, according to Nora but she enjoyed the experience as it was her rare chance to visit exotic places like Siquijor.

Until La Aunor had other members of the cast navigating with her like Bianca Umali, Jeric Gonzales, Edgar Allan Guzman and Martin Escudero.

It was also the time when the producer was revealed—BC Entertainment.

Noranians are busy mobilizing their fellow Nora fans to support their idol in this journey as the film is set to hit nationwide screens this February.
