The "Community Pantry" project that has enabled ordinary Filipinos to weather the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic is back - and this time, furbabies are now included!

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has partnered with the original Maginhawa Community Pantry for its "Community PAWntry" at Maginhawa corner Magiting streets in Quezon City last Saturday, March 28.

This new partnership aims to help public utility vehicle drivers who are also pet owners amid the ongoing oil crisis.

PAWS donated over 150 packs of pet food to the pantry for tricycle and jeepney drivers who are now barely scraping by due to the steep rise in prices of oil products in the past few weeks.

Recently, Patreng Non reactivated the Maginhawa Community Pantry - originally developed during the pandemic - to help sustain PUV drivers whose livelihoods have been affected by the impact of the war in the Middle East.
