The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Wednesday said that there is no trace of missing Cessna 206 plane in Isabela despite efforts to locate it by aerial and ground search party.
After 22 days, there is yet no trace of the missing Cessna RP-C1174 plane that went missing with six people on board in Isabela despite continued aerial and ground search operations.
The Cessna 206 took off Cauayan Airport on January 24, en route to Maconacon Airport but it did not arrive.
A report of Philippine Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Center (PARCC) of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) addressed to Cauayan Airport Manager 1 Greysen Viloria on February 14 said that search and rescue operation (SAR) is still ongoing for the missing C206.
According to PARCC facility in charge Braulio I. Meneses, that "up until now no trace of RP-C1174 has been found, despite the 21 days of SAR operations. So, currently the subject aircraft status is still missing."
The weather reportedly in the mountainous area and the vegetation cover has greatly affected the aerial search.
The weather also is uncooperative for the ground search party which slowed down the operation.
Several information gathered by authorities during the early days of search operation said that a possible wreckage of the missing C206 was spotted in a mountainside near Barangay Sapinit, Isabela.
Its last known position and the last contact with the air traffic controller was reportedly in the vicinity of Naguillian Bridge, Isabela.
Meneses report said it extended the hours of operations and the early opening of Cauayan Airport and tower to support the search and rescue operational requirements.
He added that "any significant information received will be reported immediately by the PARCC."
