Motorcyclists in San Pablo City will now be required to remove their helmets and masks when entering business establishments inside the city.

This, after the city council passed "An Ordinance Prohibiting any Persons Wearing a Helmet, Balaclava Mask, or any Caps Covering the Identity to Enter any Enclosed Business Establishments in the city of San Pablo" during their regular session last August 19.

The ordinance aims to deter criminals who often use motorcycle helmets and masks to hide their identity.

The city council also passed another ordinance which mandates business establishments with a capital and gross income of P500,000 and more to provide emergency alarms for security against criminals.

These ordinances were authored by City Councilor Richard Pavico.
