As a gentle reminder of his winning not a few acting plums in the institutional award-giving body FAMAS, former child star Nino Muhlach has agreed to give vintage shop Pinoy Pawnstars one of his trophies for stewardship.

Jason Luzada, proprietor of Pinoy Pawnstars, has mutually accepted the precious Best Child Star trophy Nino had won during the 1977 FAMAS awards night for the movie “Kutong Lupa,” a production of Wonder Films.

“Ang gusto ko talaga, ma-restore ang trophy at maalagaan. Gusto kong naka-display sa museum ni Jason. Gusto kong makita ito ng mga tao lalo na ang mga bagong henerasyon ng kabataan (What I’d really like is for my trophy to be restored and well taken care of. I’d like it displayed in the museum. I’d like it seen by the people especially the new generation of the youth),” quipped Onin, Nino’s pet name.

Restoration of the trophy is now in the offing as Luzada instructed his restorer to bring back the texture and look of the plum.

Muhlach is excited about the rehabilitation of his award because he said it is a legacy to leave to his family and the Filipino audience who has been his support since he was billed as Wonder Boy of Philippine cinema in the 70s.
