Miss Cebu Nicole Borromeo reigns supreme as she takes home Miss International 2022 in the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 coronation night on Sunday.
Cebuana Nicole Borromeo was chosen as the Binibining Pilipinas International as announced by 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray and 2016 Miss Grand International first runner-up Nicole Cordoves.
Borromeo won over the crowd and the judges in the Top 12 Question and Answer segment after guest panelist actor Donnie Pangilinan asked to rate herself as a responsible Filipino citizen on a 10-point scale.
“As a responsible Filipino citizen, I’d like to give myself a good 8, because I know that there’s always room to improve. There’s so much I don’t know but there’s so much I’m willing to learn. And I hope to do that with you,” answered the 20-year-old Cebuana.
The other three ladies representing the country are Bb. Pilipinas Grand International Roberta Angela Tamondong from San Pablo, Laguna; Bb. Pilipinas Globe Chelsea Fernandez from Tacloban; and Samar’s Gabrielle Camille Basiano as Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental.
Cainta's Stacey Daniella Gabriel was named Second Runner-up while viral TV personality and Angono’s representative Herlene Nicole Budol was awarded as First Runner-up.
Other special awardees are Rizal’s Herlene Budol (Bb. Shein, Bb. Pizza Hut, Bb. Kumu, Jag Queen, Bb. Silka and Bb. World Balance), Iloilo City’s Karen Laurrie Mendoza (Bb. Moist Diane Shampoo), Tacloban City’s Chelsea Fernandez (Bb. Ever Bilena) and Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Gabrielle Camille Basiano (Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown).
Borromeo will join the 61st Miss International pageant next year, while the other three Bb. Pilipinas queens will compete earlier in their respective international competitions starting October.
The 2022 Bb. Pilipinas grand coronation night was broadcasted live on TV5, Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and the Metro Channel, and streamed real-time on iWant TFC and the pageant’s official YouTube channel.
