Aspiring professionals in Eastern Visayas now need not go to Cebu or even as far as Manila for licensure exams.
This, after the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in Eastern Visayas formally opened its newest Computer-Based Licensure Examination (CBLE) Center in Tacloban City last December 9.
Officials said the new CBLE Center will provide access to licensure examinations held beyond Metro Manila and other major urban centers, which offers convenience to examinees from provinces who previously had to travel far for licensure exams.
This is the first CBLE testing center opened by the PRC in Eastern Visayas.
In his message during the opening ceremonies, PRC Commissioner Erwin Enad said the new facility represents a significant milestone in strengthening the integrity and efficiency of licensure examinations.
“Not only with the easier access, but the center will also bring economic movement to the area with examinees coming to the region from other parts of the country to take the exams here,” Enad said.
The PRC commissioner added that this project aligns with the Commission’s digitalization efforts aimed at improving service delivery for millions of Filipino examinees.
The new center is expected to host licensure exams for various professions, particularly those with small to medium examinee populations — allowing examinees to complete tests via computers, with faster processing and quicker release of results.
Officials noted that the CBLE system supports secure proctoring, digital submission of answers, and aims to minimize human error, logistical burdens, and leaks associated with traditional paper-based exams.
With the opening of this center, PRC hopes to encourage more board exam takers from Eastern Visayas to take their examinations locally.
