Police have confirmed a shooting incident in the exclusive enclave of South Forbes Park, which alarmed residents of the gated village. It turned out the shooting took place in the home of Rose Nono Lin, who was involved in the Pharmally Pharmaceutical scandal that the senate invesigated.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has confirmed a shooting incident in the gated subdivision of Forbes Park that shocked residents on Monday night.

NCRPO Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) personnel and tactical motorcycle riding units were deployed to respond to the call, the Philippine Star reported.

Units that responded to the call identified the suspect Julius Cortez, a driver, and security guard, at 14 Narra Street, South Forbes Park.

Jay Ar Tomenio and Eugene Sitjar, two private security officers, were discovered dead on the scene. Sitjar was shot in the head and died instantly, while his companion Tomenio was shot in his waist.

The suspect was drunk when he pulled the trigger on the victims, based on a witness named Bernard Saquing, who also reported the incident to the authorities.

Cortez was able to escape, and Makati police said a search has since been launched.

After the shooting, the suspect fled to an unkown direction and a continuous manhunt was undertaken by SWAT and Tactical Motorcycle Riders Units (TMRU) personnel of this station for possible arrest," a report by Makati City Police Station.

Two shell casings, three fired bullets, and one deformed 9mm jacket were all found at the crime scene.

A former congressional candidate named Rose Nono Lin, who was under investigation by the Senate for her role as the treasurer and incorporator of the controversial Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp., is said to have rented the home where the shooting occurred.

It also took place just across the street from the home of Duterte’s economic adviser Michael Yang, another major player in the Pharmally fiasco who has since gone into hiding.

Incidentally, on the same street is the family mansion of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

In the 18th Congress, the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee ordered the arrest of Lin and four others for skipping the hearings on the spurious multibillion-peso transactions between Pharmally and the budget department.

In line with this, Rose Lin's lawyers at the time asked for a temporary restraining order (TRO) and injunction to stop the Senate from enforcing an arrest order against her for 10 days, saying she is in the hospital and needs surgery.
