Mylene Paat awarded as Best Scorer in an international volleyball league and becomes the first Filipino volleyball import for this generation.

Adamson's Mylene Paat was named Best Scorer in the Volleyball Thailand League, an overseas club league, after leading Nakhon Ratchasima to a bronze-medal finish on Sunday, becoming the first Filipino volleyball import of this generation to win this individual award.

The lefty opposite hitter emerged as Nakhon Ratchasima’s leading scorer in her first overseas campaign as an import, tallying 174 points during the first two rounds and had five 20-plus point games – including a 27-point outing against Khonkaen Star back in December 23.

Mylene played alongside her Chery Tiggo teammate Dindin Santiago-Manabat in the VTL, steering their team to a third place finish defeating Konkhaen Star, 25-18, 25-23, 21-25, 25-14.

Nakhon Ratchasima won one of three matches in the Final Four round to keep the No.3 seed but lost to Diamond Food in the knockout semifinal on Saturday before bouncing back in the battle for third for a podium finish.

Praising God

“Napakabuti mo PANGINOON! (You are so good, God!)” the former Adamson University opposite hitter said in an Instagram post.

Unfortunately, Mylene could not attend the awarding ceremonies, to receive her ฿10,000 prize money as she was undergoing her RT-PCR tests for her flight back home.

Paat was among the 2021-22 season individual awardees led by MVP and Best Outside hitter Sasipaporn Janthawisut, who led her team Diamond Food to the VTL crown with a three-set win over the star studded and unbeaten Supreme Chonburi.

Aside from Paat, other individual awardees include Chitaporn Kamlangmak, her teammate, who won the Best Middle Blocker plum together with Kaewkalaya Kamulthala of Diamond Food, Kannika Thipachot of Supreme Chonburi, winning the other Best Outside hitter award, and Diamond Food’s Malika Kanthong earning the Best Opposite Spiker.

Paat and Santiago-Manabat will return to the Crossovers to defend their championship title in the Premier Volleyball League which is slated on March 16.
