It isn't easy to be featured in any multimedia spaces even with the advent of socmed, a vehicle which is easily accessible.

In the traditional media like magazines, newspapers, television, radio and other older forms of information platform, a subject is written about or covered if he or she has shown remarkable performances in any field of endeavor or the news worthiness of his or her actions.

Music educator, singer and arts manager Michelle Nikki Junia (a true blue Waraynon having roots in Tacloban City and Tolosa town in Leyte) surely fits into the mold.

That is why Art Plus Magazine, a glossy mag, never harbored qualms of featuring her in its March-April issue.

Michelle Nikki, together with other eight women achievers, is one of the fascinating people whose life is tackled in the story aptly titled "The Power of Women," a topic which resonates to a big number of readers about female worth and emancipation for the betterment of humanity.

Nikki is portrayed as a woman worthy of public awareness because of her vision as an artist and a technocrat.

In her revelation, Nikki speaks of her assertion as a young girl to be able to realize her dreams in the arts.

Art Plus Magazine asked nine extraordinary women what it's like to be a woman in their respective fields of endeavor.

Nikki's answer: "At age 4 or 5, I forced my parents to enroll me at Ballet Philippines under Alice Reyes even if the required age was 6 years old. Eventually, I became the youngest CCP president. But even before that, I've been working as a music educator for children during their early age..."

At the moment, Michelle Nikki's support to the arts and culture of the country is immeasurable as she had started projects with the CCP like Kanto Kultura, a program that promotes and enhances the artistic and cultural know-how of Filipino artists from the grassroots.

The other subjects of feminine power within the discussion are Antoinette Jadaone, filmmaker; Barbie Almalbis, musician; Waya Araos-Wijangco, chef, restaurateur; Ciane Xavier, visual artist; Pia Ranada, Head of Community, Rappler; Shiela Valderrama, performing artist; Yvette Tan, writer and Wawi Navarrosa, visual artist.
