Moments before actress and former politician Maita Sanchez's remains were cremated and buried at the Arlington Memorial Chapels in Araneta Avenue Sunday, November 10, there were still mourners and well-wishers who came to her house in Pagsanjan, Laguna.
At the 1912 Don Porong Ejercito's ancestral home, stars and other celebrities rushed in to pay their last respects to the late ex-mayor and vice-mayor of the town who died of endometrial cancer on November 3 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City.
Titanic Action Star and Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. touched down from his chopper in the sprawling suburb of Pagsanjan where he was met by ER Ejercito, Maita's husband.
After condoling handshakes and some pleasantries, Bong and ER boarded a black van to the Ejercito’s mansion where they were met up by the Ejercito children, relatives and friends.
Revilla immediately thrusted his last glance to Maita and took some photo-ops with ER’s children Jet Ejercito, Jerico Estregan and Guadalupe “Jhulia” Ejercito.
After a few minutes, former senator Francis Pangilinan appeared and was received warmly by the bereaved family.
Before Bong and Kiko, there were producer Marynette Gamboa, director Efren Reyes, Jr., actor Dindo Arroyo and associate producer Arman Reyes, all from Water Plus Productions, who came all the way from Manila.

Mother and daughter team Beth Jones and Angelica Jones were early birds one evening to pay their last respects to their common friend.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng mga nakiramay sa amin sa pagpanaw ng mahal kong asawa. Napakabait ni Maita (I thanked all those who grieved with us in the passing of my dear wife. Maita was so kind),” said ER.
