More Filipino stars at 76th Cannes

After the likes of Lino Brocka, Brillante Ma. Mendoza, Jaclyn Jose, Nora Aunor, Phillip Salvador, Coco Martin, Maria Isabel Lopez, Carmi Martin, Raya Martin, Piolo Pascual, Gerald Anderson, Shaina Magdayao, Aureus Solito, Raymond Red, Lav Diaz, Adolf Alix, Jr. etc. had given honors representing the country in the past editions of the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival, this year's Croisette event thrusts its spotlight on other Filipino film celebs.

It's time for 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, 2016 Miss International Kylie Versoza and Heart Evangelista to stand out in the French Riviera red carpet.


Actress and ex-Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chair Liza Dino-Seguerra and current FDCP Technical Consultant Jose Javier Reyes are watching over the Filipino contingent.


Arjo Atayde, one of the stars of "Topakk," a film exhibited at the Marche du Film section is making the most of it with fellow actor Enchong Dee.


Arjo and mom Sylvia Sanchez are having fun, filial bond and shared commercial success as "Topakk" according to director and content creator Will Fredo has been tapped by Lighthouse for distribution in German-speaking regions in Europe.


Will is also at Cannes for a development stage of his film project, likewise Lino Cayetano.


Lorna Tolentino is as usual in her glitz and glam presence.


Philstagers Films reps Vince Tanada, OJ Arci and Johnrey Rivas were around for the screening of their films "Ako si Ninoy" and "Ang Bangkay" at the Marche du Film industry event.


"I also saw my idol Sean Penn," exclaimed Vince who is reunited with his friend Evelyn Vargas-Knaebel now based in Switzerland.


Bela Padilla's presence is felt at the Festival de Cannes. According to Bela, she attends the Croisette to learn more about filmmaking.


The 2023 Cannes ends on May 27.
