According to data from the Department of Transportation (DOTr), 54 modern Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) models have secured their certificate of compliance, with 34 being locally assembled and 20 imported. Additional data from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) shows that local and Japanese manufacturers offer modern vehicles priced between P900,000 and P985,000, while Chinese-made jeepneys cost between P1.8 million and P2.8 million.
