The Cessna 152 plane reported missing last Monday, August 1, after it failed to reach Tuguegarao Airport has been found, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said Wednesday.
CAAP said that "search and retrieval operations are now ongoing to retrieve the bodies of the two persons on board the aircraft."
Prior to this, the Cagayan Public Information Office has announced that RP-C8958 was found and confirmed by Apayao Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Jeoffrey Borromeo at the boundary of Barangay Salvacion Luna and San Mariano Pudtol, Apayao.
According to CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio, "the operations of the concerned aircraft's operator, Echo Air, have been suspended."
The CAAP's Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board have been dispatched to the location and will join the investigation of the crash site once retrieval of the bodies have been completed.
