Renowned Filipino designer Michael Cinco is set to unveil his latest collection, “The Impalpable Dream of Eternal City, Roma,” at a fashion show in the Philippines this December.

Drawing from Roman culture and history, the collection will debut at the Marriott Hotel on December 2 as part of the Philippine Legacy Gala.

During a recent press preview, Cinco described his collection as a "unique and rich exploration of Roman history and culture."

Known for his skillful fabric manipulation, Cinco plans to incorporate Roman-inspired elements like arches, columns, and intricate stonework into his designs, creating pieces that reflect ancient Roman mosaics, art, and sculpture.

Cinco showcased his work at last year’s Philippine Legacy Gala as well, presenting “The Impalpable Dream of España,” a collection inspired by the vibrant spirit of Spain.

In contrast, this year’s Roman-inspired collection promises to evoke grandeur, honoring Rome’s classical architecture and timeless aesthetic.

“This collection’s distinctiveness lies in its strong connection to Roman art and architecture, from ornate columns to intricate mosaics,” said Cinco.

He added that Filipino touches will still be evident in the designs.

The fashion show is the highlight of the Philippine Legacy Gala, a fundraising event by Philippine Missionari della Fondazione di Carita Inc., a nonprofit supporting the Missionaries of Charity.

The organization provides essential services like food, shelter, and healthcare to vulnerable communities in the Philippines.

Cinco expressed that his participation is a way of giving back.

“Knowing that my collection can aid impoverished families in Manila fills me with purpose,” he said.

“Fashion here becomes a powerful tool for social good, bridging creativity and compassion, underscoring the responsibility artists have to make a positive impact.”
