An official from the Manila Electric Company (Meralco)'s Power Lab says proper choice of electric devices is key to lowering electricity consumption.
EVEN as the monsoon rains have cooled off the weather somewhat, electricity stakeholders say the current thin power supply over Luzon may not ease yet.
This is why an official from the Manila Electric Company (Meralco)'s Power Lab says proper choice of electric devices is key to lowering electricity consumption.
Alfred Iporac said during Wednesday's episode of "OpinYon News Ngayon."
The Meralco Power Lab is a research institute founded by the electricity distributor in 2015, which tests electric appliances and devices how they affect a consumer's overall supply.
Which appliance to use?
For instance, when it comes to using refrigerators, Iporac suggested using two-door fridges if possible.
Meanwhile, in answer to an ongoing debate on whether inverters are really more economical than standard air-conditioners, Iporac said using inverters could reduce the average consumption of electricity "significantly."
In fact, ang nakita naming range of savings is around 25 to 62 percent."
