The scion of one of the pioneers of IT education in the Philippines is gone.

Amable Aguiluz VI, popularly known as Tikoy Aguiluz ("Boatman," "Rizal sa Dapitan," "Segurista," "Biyaheng Langit," "Bagong Bayani," "Tatarin" etc.), died of still unknown causes as of this writing.

One of his protegees, award-winning director Jim Libiran noted in his Facebook wall these words:

"Mahusay na mentor, isang mayamang mina ng karanasan at karunungan. Napakabait at maalalahaning kaibigan. Isa sa pinakamahusay na direktor sa ating bansa (Very good teacher. A rich source of knowledge and experiences. Very kind at a thoughtful friend. One of the best directors in our country)."
