President Marcos declared October 31, 2022, as a special non-working holiday to spend more time with family and boost local tourism.
President Marcos Jr. declared October 31 a special non-working holiday to allow more family time and promote local tourism.
Press Undersecretary OIC Cheloy Garafil said that Marcos has already signed the proclamation for it.
“Para na rin mas marami tayong time kasama ang ating pamilya at para ma-promote na rin ang ating local tourism,” she added.
All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day
The presidential proclamation was signed just days before the country's annual commemoration of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day on November 1 and 2, respectively.
Nov. 1 is a special non-working holiday from Proclamation 1236 signed by former president Rodrigo Duterte last October 2021.
Proclamation 32, signed by Marcos in August of this year, declares November 1 and 2, 2023 as special non-working days, PNA reported.
Marcos designated Nov. 2, 2023, a special non-working day to "strengthen family ties by allowing more time for traditional All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day festivities, as well as boost domestic tourism."
