Kids, you can now visit the Manila Zoo and have a first-hand experience of seeing animals that you only watch on your television. The zoo reopened today after being rehabilitated for P1.74 billion since the time of Mayor Isko Moreno.

The Manila Zoo reopened today after the pandemic and after months of its rehabilitation.

A Facebook video from the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) showed Honey Lacuna, the mayor of Manila, presiding over the zoo's reopening, Inquirer reported.

Among the new attractions in the zoo are: African lion; white Bengal tiger; lesser white egret; Indian blue peafowl; multi-colored stored stork; double- wattled cassowary; crocodile; ostrich; turtle and Philippine deer.

The Manila Zoo opened form 9 a.m. with a guest entry cutoff at 6 p.m. until 8p.m. daily.

The admission fees are as follows:

*Adult and child: ₱150 for Manilans and ₱300 for non-residents

*Students: ₱100 for Manilans and ₱200 for non-residents

*Senior Citizens and Person with Disabilities (PWD) – 20 percent discount on prescribed fees

Children 2 years old and below may enter for free

Rehabilitation was at ₱1.74 billion for the five-hectare property, which began during the term of former mayor Isko Moreno.

The reopening of the zoo was previously set on November 15 but was rescheduled to November 21 to make way for final preparations.
