Over a year since its closure due to Covid-19, the Manila Ocean Park has opened its doors once again this Thursday, October 21.
ALMOST as soon as Malacañang announced the easing of restrictions in Metro Manila from Alert Level 4 to Level 3, Manila Ocean Park announced that it will resume operations and reopen soon.
Starting today, the oceanarium will be open on Thursdays to Sundays including public holidays from 10 am to 6 pm.
Manila Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, who led the reopening, said this would help create more jobs and boost economic recovery.
"We are hopeful [businesses] like yours will get back on track," Lacuna said. "You are conveying a clear message that we are almost getting out of the tunnel and beginning to see the light."
In line with the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines for areas under Alert Level 3, guests will be limited to tourists between ages 18 to 65 and are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Standard Covid-19 prevention protocols will be implemented such as contact tracing forms, wearing of masks and face shields at all times, and maintaining a one-meter distance from other guests.
IATF guidelines also limit a venue’s capacity to 30% .
Therefore, Manila Ocean Park has capped and will be monitoring the number of guests per day, per hour.
Other than the main oceanarium, only a number of attractions will be open for now:
●Trails to Antarctica (Penguin Exhibit and Christmas Village)
●World of Creepy Crawlies
●Super Toy Collection
●Jellies Exhibit
The company also warns tourists to only avail tickets through their website or through Klook instead of the other sites that used to sell Manila Ocean Park tickets pre-pandemic.
“We are o-fish-ially open and we can’t wait to SEA you!”
