Rice retailers from various regions across the country convene at the National Food Authority Central Office on Visayas Avenue, Quezon City, on Thursday, September 7, following the implementation of Executive Order No. 39 imposing mandated price ceilings on rice to combat hoarding, profiteering, smuggling, and cartelization.

Farmers happy with NFA higher buying price

Farmers from different regions of the country were happy with the increase in the buying price of the National Food Authority at the farmgate of P16 to P19 per kilogram for fresh palay and P19 to P23 for dry palay.


P20 per kilo of rice still attainable, says PBBM

There is still a chance that the P20 per kilo of rice could be realized, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said on Tuesday, pointing out that once the agriculture sector and the cost of production in the country would become stable and normalize, the goal would be reached. 


If DA and DTI both refuse to properly address the queries, the Eastern Visayas public might see this as a delaying tactic while they are still trying to come up with “excuses”, more than explanations, as to the actual implementation of the EO.
