A man was suddenly attacked and stabbed in Borongan City, Eastern Samar, leaving him with severe injuries.
The incident took place near a store along the National Highway in Brgy. Tabunan during the Christmas celebration on December 25, 2024.
The victim has been identified as “James,” a 58-year-old farmer and resident of the same barangay.
The suspect, known as “Roming,” is also a 58-year-old farmer and a neighbor of the victim.
According to information gathered by OpinYon 8 Media, the victim left his home around 6:45 PM on Christmas night to buy supplies at the local store.
Suddenly, he was ambushed and stabbed by the suspect, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time.
The victim suffered injuries to various parts of his body due to the attack.
Immediately following the incident, he was rushed to the Eastern Samar Provincial Hospital (ESPH) for treatment.
Meanwhile, the suspect was apprehended by the police and taken to the Borongan City Police Station.
The weapon used in the attack was also recovered and is being documented as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.
Authorities are continuing to assess the situation and gather further information.
The motive behind the stabbing remains unclear, but it has sent shockwaves through the local community.
