The other half of AlDub, Yaya Dub, played on "kalye serye" TV by Maine Mendoza, has spoken about the implication of, no, not her reel love interest Alden Richards, but, real life love team Arjo Atayde.
Atayde, the congressman of the First District if Quezon City was named by Curlee Discaya as one of the lawmakers who had received kickbacks from flood control projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
According to Maine, accusations against her husband are all unfounded.
"Teka lang muna, those are baseless accusations," opened Mendoza in her social media spaces.
Maine requested the public not to judge Arjo based on the revelation.
"Please refrain from throwing hate and personal attacks at him, including me and our family until facts come out," quipped the alter ego of Yaya Dub.
As a espouse, Maine said, she is one with Atayde in proving his innocence.
"I am with my husband in this. Wala siyang ginagawang masama sa loob (He hasn't done anything).
"He has been doing his best to serve the people of his district in Quezon City since the beginning," she stressed.
Maine is confident, she must be saying that her husband will be vindicated and the real perpetrators of the crime known.
"I sincerely hope and pray that the people who are TRULY responsible will be held accountable and that innocent individuals are spared from this mess," she said.
"Napaka-unfair (Very unfair)," she quipped.
