The internationally famous Philippine Madrigal Singers or simply Madz is synecdochal.

Its tenor, Nikko Oliver Villanueva, has given the group many outstanding contributions while they partake in his solo musical talents.

Take for instance Madz' concerts in Indonesia and South Korea.

Madz as a whole entity and Nikko as an individual member collaborated with choral groups in South Korea and Indonesia.

Recently, in Indonesia, Madz and Oliver Villanueva exchanged their musical ingenuities with Incheon City Chorale and other select singing groups and had wonderful time interacting with each other.

At the end of the performances, the members of respective choral groups joined in a celebratory singing of the popular TikTok song "APT."

Proudly, Nikko's original music "A Song of Hope," whose lyrics were adapted from the poem by Charles Bertram Johnson was interpreted by Madz participants, Dux Stella Voce and Sing right at the Trater Jakarta Taman Ismail Marzurki.

In a Facebook post, Sinag Himig Chorale, a world-class troupe, expressed its appreciation for Nikko as composer and arranger for a Valentine concert for a cause, "What I Did For Love" with a blurb that says "a magical night of music and love in all its forms."

Here goes the notes of the recognition: "We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our talented resident arranger and future composer, Mr. Nikko Oliver Villanueva, a distinguished Tenor of The Philippine Madrigal Singers. His extraordinary skill, dedication, and passion for music have profoundly enriched our repertoire. Through his intricate arrangements, he has brought new life to our performances, blending creativity with an unwavering commitment to excellence. We are truly fortunate to have him as a part of our journey, and we look forward to the continued brilliance he will share with us in the years to come."

Nikko is a graduate of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Manila and a former student of National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab.

Oliver Villanueva is currently pursuing a course in music at the University of the Philippines-Diliman and is a resident conductor if St. John Bosco Parish Chorale.
